For Parents
What a conversation with me sounds like
Working with teachers, special educators, and everyone else at an IEP meeting can be hard. You are the only person at the table whose child it is, and the vocabulary, the paperwork, and the pace are all built for the people who do this every day. The pieces below are examples of how a conversation with me actually goes — scripted, transcribed, and honest about what worked.
- Coaching Conversations: Two Scripts — a paraprofessional coaching session and a middle-school transition IEP meeting, word for word.
- Partnering with Families — what the research says about family engagement, and what I took from it.
- Decoding Assessment — the statistical vocabulary of your child’s evaluation, in plain language.
