How This Site Is Built

This site is built by me, working with an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude). I think readers of a site about evidence deserve to know exactly what that means, so here is the full account.

What is mine

The coursework, the ideas, and the positions are mine. Every artifact in the SPED 854 section — the philosophy statement, the coaching scripts, the co-teaching tips, the diorama — was written by me for my master's program at the University of Kansas and graded as my work. The blog posts are my thinking. Where a page summarizes research, I chose the sources and I am accountable for the claims.

What the AI does

Claude works under my direction as an editor, developer, and research assistant. Specifically, it has: migrated content from my old Wix site and caught inconsistencies in the move; written and revised the HTML and CSS; generated the original statistical diagrams on the assessment constructs page (each one is marked as such in the image credits); traced unattributed images to their sources so they could be properly credited or replaced; drafted copy edits that I approve or reject; and audited the site for broken links, missing citations, and accessibility problems.

What that means for trust

Nothing on this site is published without my review. When AI drafts something, I am the editor of record. When it generates a figure, the figure is labeled original and the underlying facts are cited to their source. When neither of us can find a source for a claim, the claim either comes down or is flagged in the open — you can find an example of that honesty policy in the image credits on the assessment pages.

I use this workflow deliberately. I teach students to interrogate where information comes from; it would be strange to hide where mine comes from. A companion post walking through the actual prompts used to build this site is planned — both as a trust exercise and because the process itself is educational.
